Bollywood could have breached the Rs 300 crore mark and heading towards Rs 400 crores, but in Tollywood, a blockbuster happens when a film breaches the Rs 50 crore mark.
By now, almost all the top heroes have already joined the big league. Pawan Kalyan entered the league with Gabbar Singh and Attarintiki Daaredi and Mahesh closely followed with Dookudu and Seetamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu.
But it was Ram Charan who first broke the records with Magadheera. However, following Magadheera, he couldn’t repeat the magic and last year his cousin Allu Arjun made his debut in the club with Race Gurram.
On the other hand, Prabhas missed the mark by a whisker with Mirchi. But industry insiders feel that he will surely cross it with his forthcoming magnum opus Baahubali. Already, the film has been doing good business and many feel Rs 50 crore is an easy target for the film.
Now, that leaves NTR Jr who is still way behind. Of course, Temper could be his ticket to make it to the club before Prabhas. Though he was one of the first superstars among the present crop of actors, NTR could not sustain his success run and he hasn’t had a Rs 50 crore blockbuster as yet
