Story:

Sanju (Sundeep Kishan), a rich spoilt brat, is the son of Hyderabad-based Industrialist Surya Narayana (Sr Naresh). Surya Narayana seeks the help of a dreaded Gangster Adhikesavulu (Mukesh Rushi) to resolve a Business problem. It was at this juncture Sanju elopes with Adhikesavulu's Daughter Swathi (Surabhi). In what way Sanju is connected to the whole story and Why did he elope with Swathi forms the rest of the story.

Artistes’ Performances:
Sandeep Kishan is his usual energetic self. As an actor, the film does not stretch his boundaries and he does full justice to the boy next door character. Actually, he had already played similar roles in other films too.
Surabhi is not great when it comes to looks and so is her performance.
Naresh who ends up at villain’s house due to his son, plays his part well. As the scared father, he pulls off his part convincingly and evokes laughs.
Shakalaka Shankar too provides comic relief with his Srikakulam accent.
For Mukesh Rishi, these roles are pretty common. As for Saptagiri, he is getting too repetitive. We hope he tries to break free from being stereo-typed.

Highlights:

  • Cinematography
  • Production design
  • Naresh, Shanker comedy

Drawbacks:

  • Beeruva concept
  • Routine love story
  • Uninteresting comedy
Analysis:

Director Kanmani surprised everyone by choosing an unusual title 'Beeruva' for his movie. Although the comedy tracks worked well, Lack of freshness in the narration made the film a predictable fare.

SS Thaman's Music is passable. Chota K Naidu's Cinematography is an asset and his expertise helped the songs look colorful on the screen. Dialogues are entertaining in parts. Art Direction is impressive. Editing could have been better. Production Values of Usha Kiran Movies and Anandi Arts are grand.

Comedy Episodes, Heroine Surabhi and Cinematography are the saving grace of the movie. On a whole, 'Beeruva' entertains only in parts and hence it ends as a big disappointment.

Box Office: 'Beeruva' released in around 300-odd screens Worldwide. It might have decent openings but don't expect this half-baked film to do wonders at the Box Office.

BottomLine : Beeruva without proper Lock(Concept)

Pataas(2015) - KalyanRam in different Genre

Artists Performance:

Kalyan Ram: He is a revelation in this movie. A shift to Comedy Genre worked wonders and he is back to his best after 'Athanokkade'. 'Patas' boost his confidence and revives his career.

Shruti Sodhi: She is just okay in her role as a Reporter and exudes glamour in the songs.

Sai Kumar as DGP is first rate. Roles played by MS Narayana, Srinivas Reddy, Jayaprakash Reddy, 30-years Prithvi, Shakalaka Shankar and Posani are entertaining. Ashutosh Rana as antagonist is effective. Rest of the cast played their parts to perfection.

Plus Points:

- Kalyan Ram's Transformation

- Screenplay & Comedy

- Balayya's Arey O Samba remix

- Saikumar

- Anil Ravipudi Direction

Minus Points:

- Outdated Story

- Resemblance to successful Cop Dramas

- Climax

Analysis:

Anil Ravipudi who worked for films like Kandireega and Aagadu in the direction department has turned into a filmmaker with a pucca-commercial potboiler 'Patas'. He made good use of his years of experience to deliver an out-and-out entertainer which is racy from the moment go. Taut Screenplay, Good dose of comedy and Heroism elevating scenes have overcome the drawbacks of choosing a routine and predictable story.

Sai Kartheek's songs were decent and background score is pretty good. Cinematography is decent. Dialogues pack a punch. Editing is crisp. Production Values of NTR Arts are good.

NTR's voice over in the beginning of the movie appealing people to be careful while driving on roads is a good gesture. Remix of Balakrishna's Arey O Samba is like a feast for Nandamuri Fans.

Box Office: 'Patas' released in 350-plus screens Worldwide. Its certain to recover the investment within the first week and enters profit zone from thereafter. Kalyan Ram will be more than happy as 'Patas' stands as his best work post 'Athanokkade' and Dil Raju who acquired the distribution rights will have the last laugh.

BottomLine : Commercial and Comedy Entertainer

Hero Shivaji hits headlines again. He was earlier connected with the agitation in favor of Palem bus tragedy victims. He later joined BJP and campaigned in some areas too. Recently he appealed to all of our MPs and MLAs to build public toilets for the people.

Now Shivaji puts demand to state government and transport ministry. He requested transport ministers and officials to take stringent action against the travels who operating without license. Sivaji further said he will approach the court if government fails to respond on the issue.

The statement of Sivaji is waves among political circles as it was directly targeted to ruling TDP. Well, the question obviously rises in everybody's mind that what right  the hero has to demand the Transport minister. But then, we should understand sivaji being the citizen of India, has right to question the politicians. Wish that they would listen to the plea of Sivaj.

Here’s how he spent it...

The 2014 general elections were estimated to be India’s most expensive—and the Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) broke the bank on the way to its biggest ever election victory.

In all, the BJP spent Rs714.28 crore ($115 million) on the 2014 general election campaign, according to the contribution report it filed with the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Jan 12.

That’s about Rs200 crore ($32 million) more than the Congress Party’s expenditure during the 2014 polls—and almost as much as the Rs791 crore ($127 million) that both the parties spent in the 2009 general elections.

The Congress’ expenditure details for 2014 aren’t available on ECI yet (as of early Jan 16.), but here’s the complete breakdown of how the BJP spent its money to secure the most resounding mandate for a single political party since 1984.

The big numbers

The BJP’s total expenditure of Rs714.28 crore ($115 million)—from the date of announcement of the election till its completion (March-May 2014)—was spent by its central unit and various state units.

The latter’s expenses ranged from a few lakhs for some states to nearly Rs100 crore ($16 million) for others, but more than a third of all the BJP’s poll expenditure was spent by the central unit on one item: media advertising.

The biggest individual recipients of this money were two firms—its media planner, Madison World and chartered aviation provider, Saarthi Airways.

Madison World, founded by Sam Balsara, had won the mandate to handle the BJP’s election campaign in Feb. 2014 and had accounted for 522 out of the 691 transactions the party made for its media campaign.

Saarthi Airways, on the other hand, is promoted by Delhi-based Gulab Singh Tanwar, reportedly a close friend of former BJP’s president and current home minister, Rajnath Singh. The party spent Rs77.83 crore ($12.57 million) on chartering aircrafts for its star campaigners, of which Rs60 crore ($9.7 million) was paid to Saarthi Airways alone.

And this was, in all likelihood, also the most expensive election campaign in the history of Indian democracy—with the BJP spending more than twice of what the Congress dished out for its 2009 win.

Provincial spending

The remaining chunk of the money was spent by the BJP’s state units, which either used it for media, campaign transport and similar propaganda uses—or simply disbursed the cash to its candidates.

For the states where the BJP has a strong presence and a good grassroots network, the spending was predictably high. But among the five states where it secured most seats, the paltry expenditure by the Uttar Pradesh unit was quite a surprise.

Finally,Bang for the bucks

Money, of course, isn’t everything—and so it took a lot more than just big bucks for the BJP to win 282 seats in the general elections.

And while it was, by far, the most successful campaign of all of India’s political parties, the $100 million offensive didn’t pack the most bang for the buck. That honour went to a clutch of small regional parties who spent little to win big.

But its worth remembering that this is only what the parties declare before the ECI—and that India’s election campaigns are awash with black money, booze and other persuasive items.

So the actual expenditure could be much, much higher.

Facebook made what appeared to be a minor announcement today when it said Indian users can have Facebook notifications pushed to them via a mobile web browser called UCWeb. To the 41% of Indian smartphone owners who already use UCWeb, it doesn’t sound very groundbreaking and the deal isn’t likely to impact revenues at either company by much. Outside of India, it got almost no media coverage.

But it represents a big move for Facebook. That’s because UCWeb is a Chinese app, fully-owned by the Chinese internet conglomerate Alibaba, and Jack Ma, Alibaba’s CEO, sits on its board.

With China unlikely to lift its ban on Facebook (in place on the mainland since 2009), CEO Mark Zuckerberg needs to find alternative ways for his company to tap China’s 600 million-plus users. One way would be to forget about Facebook’s social network for now, cooperate with local players to earn credibility, and build services afresh for the Chinese market.

Facebook has been trying this for some time, to no avail. In 2011 it was in talks with Baidu, China’s dominant search engine, but Baidu got cold feet after considering the potential political implications of working with a banned American company. This week Reuters reported that Xiaomi declined to formalize investment discussions with Facebook over similar concerns. The tie-up with UCWeb could finally mark the start of Facebook’s push into China, by linking it with one of the country’s internet giants.

One clue as to the importance of the UCWeb deal is that this is the first time any company other than Facebook has been granted the ability to push Facebook notifications to the social network’s users. Previously, the only way to get real-time updates was to download Facebook’s own app. (Or to open Facebook.com on a browser.)

No details about the cooperation have been published so far (Quartz’s request for comment from Facebook has gone unanswered) but there is no doubt that in UCWeb—or rather its parent Alibaba—Facebook has found an ally in a position to offer a genuine leg-up in a market it has coveted for a long time.

Venkatesh and Pawan Kalyan share a very special bonding. For the first time, they have teamed up for ‘Gopala Gopala’ their combination received positive response from the movie lovers. Speaking about their bonding, Pawan said, “Not many people know about us. Venkatesh garu is more like my brother and he is my family member. We wanted to work together for a very long time and we just waited for the correct script. I’m happy that the film is doing well and people are loving me and Venkatesh garu in Gopala Gopala”. Venkatesh was more than happy to share about his working experience with Pawan Kalyan.

He said, “You don’t need to meet someone everyday to share a good bonding. Both of us think in the same way in many matters and maybe that is the reason why we are comfortable to work with each other and share opinions about lot of things other than cinema”.
