Story:

Sanju (Sundeep Kishan), a rich spoilt brat, is the son of Hyderabad-based Industrialist Surya Narayana (Sr Naresh). Surya Narayana seeks the help of a dreaded Gangster Adhikesavulu (Mukesh Rushi) to resolve a Business problem. It was at this juncture Sanju elopes with Adhikesavulu's Daughter Swathi (Surabhi). In what way Sanju is connected to the whole story and Why did he elope with Swathi forms the rest of the story.

Artistes’ Performances:
Sandeep Kishan is his usual energetic self. As an actor, the film does not stretch his boundaries and he does full justice to the boy next door character. Actually, he had already played similar roles in other films too.
Surabhi is not great when it comes to looks and so is her performance.
Naresh who ends up at villain’s house due to his son, plays his part well. As the scared father, he pulls off his part convincingly and evokes laughs.
Shakalaka Shankar too provides comic relief with his Srikakulam accent.
For Mukesh Rishi, these roles are pretty common. As for Saptagiri, he is getting too repetitive. We hope he tries to break free from being stereo-typed.

Highlights:

  • Cinematography
  • Production design
  • Naresh, Shanker comedy

Drawbacks:

  • Beeruva concept
  • Routine love story
  • Uninteresting comedy
Analysis:

Director Kanmani surprised everyone by choosing an unusual title 'Beeruva' for his movie. Although the comedy tracks worked well, Lack of freshness in the narration made the film a predictable fare.

SS Thaman's Music is passable. Chota K Naidu's Cinematography is an asset and his expertise helped the songs look colorful on the screen. Dialogues are entertaining in parts. Art Direction is impressive. Editing could have been better. Production Values of Usha Kiran Movies and Anandi Arts are grand.

Comedy Episodes, Heroine Surabhi and Cinematography are the saving grace of the movie. On a whole, 'Beeruva' entertains only in parts and hence it ends as a big disappointment.

Box Office: 'Beeruva' released in around 300-odd screens Worldwide. It might have decent openings but don't expect this half-baked film to do wonders at the Box Office.

BottomLine : Beeruva without proper Lock(Concept)

Pataas(2015) - KalyanRam in different Genre

APTrendz Rating : 3.25/5

Artists Performance:

Kalyan Ram: He is a revelation in this movie. A shift to Comedy Genre worked wonders and he is back to his best after 'Athanokkade'. 'Patas' boost his confidence and revives his career.

Shruti Sodhi: She is just okay in her role as a Reporter and exudes glamour in the songs.

Sai Kumar as DGP is first rate. Roles played by MS Narayana, Srinivas Reddy, Jayaprakash Reddy, 30-years Prithvi, Shakalaka Shankar and Posani are entertaining. Ashutosh Rana as antagonist is effective. Rest of the cast played their parts to perfection.

Plus Points:

- Kalyan Ram's Transformation

- Screenplay & Comedy

- Balayya's Arey O Samba remix

- Saikumar

- Anil Ravipudi Direction

Minus Points:

- Outdated Story

- Resemblance to successful Cop Dramas

- Climax

Analysis:

Anil Ravipudi who worked for films like Kandireega and Aagadu in the direction department has turned into a filmmaker with a pucca-commercial potboiler 'Patas'. He made good use of his years of experience to deliver an out-and-out entertainer which is racy from the moment go. Taut Screenplay, Good dose of comedy and Heroism elevating scenes have overcome the drawbacks of choosing a routine and predictable story.

Sai Kartheek's songs were decent and background score is pretty good. Cinematography is decent. Dialogues pack a punch. Editing is crisp. Production Values of NTR Arts are good.

NTR's voice over in the beginning of the movie appealing people to be careful while driving on roads is a good gesture. Remix of Balakrishna's Arey O Samba is like a feast for Nandamuri Fans.

Box Office: 'Patas' released in 350-plus screens Worldwide. Its certain to recover the investment within the first week and enters profit zone from thereafter. Kalyan Ram will be more than happy as 'Patas' stands as his best work post 'Athanokkade' and Dil Raju who acquired the distribution rights will have the last laugh.

BottomLine : Commercial and Comedy Entertainer

Hero Shivaji hits headlines again. He was earlier connected with the agitation in favor of Palem bus tragedy victims. He later joined BJP and campaigned in some areas too. Recently he appealed to all of our MPs and MLAs to build public toilets for the people.

Now Shivaji puts demand to state government and transport ministry. He requested transport ministers and officials to take stringent action against the travels who operating without license. Sivaji further said he will approach the court if government fails to respond on the issue.

The statement of Sivaji is waves among political circles as it was directly targeted to ruling TDP. Well, the question obviously rises in everybody's mind that what right  the hero has to demand the Transport minister. But then, we should understand sivaji being the citizen of India, has right to question the politicians. Wish that they would listen to the plea of Sivaj.
